I've had gHSV2 for over four years, acquired (near certainly) in a long term relationship from someone who allegedly didn't know. We had "the talk" and although I had had testing (including HSV negative) I ran with what she told me and didn't insist on her getting testing to confirm. Having since become very conscientious and well informed, I don't sugar coat things and thus have been rejected in the dating arena. I'm not embarrassed, am open, and have told most friends of my situation. I still test negative for HSV1. Ideally, I'd like to find a committed relationship. However, after so many years of being alone, I must admit I'd consider something physical as long as there was respect, attraction, and agreement.
