Hopelessly Romantic- Is Chivalry dead? I am a very easy person to get a long with. I can be a little reserved but when I am made to feel comfortable I can be open to people and new experiences.
I am looking for love...but I want to do things right this time around... as in courtship, and taking things slow and having conversations that are important to seeing if we are people who need to try to build a future or be friends and nothing more. I'm looking to learn to be openly honest about who I am (not that I'm dishonest but generally speaking I don't like to share information if I don't feel it's important to the relationship.. ex. the past- why dwell on it?)
I was diagnosed with Herpes about a year and a half ago, while dating a guy, I told him immediately (even before getting the actual results- I had been told by 2 nurses that it looked like herpes so I figured I was doomed) He didn't respond the way I expected- with disgust & rejection..instead he seemed surprised and understanding. At the time I was relieved by his response and we spent the next 10 months in a relationship that just wasn't healthy for either of us.. reflecting on it now I am sceptical of his response when I told him- and I wonder if he had it and knew all along. Whatever the truth may be, old God and him know. I don't want to do that to someone else, so I guess my dating life begins here with others in my predicament, afraid to have that conversation with someone else but honest enough to not lie or pretend.
Stepping down from my soapbox, if you want to know more please feel free to ask!
